Product Review/GIVEAWAY: Food Should Taste Good Blue Corn Chips!

July 12, 2010

Well folks, here’s another!   I just can’t seem to get enough of these Food Should Taste Good Chips!

This time, Hubby and I tried their Blue Corn Tortilla Chips.  Ummm…..DELICIOSO!!  I have been eating them on a daily basis and really cannot get enough.  I use them as both chips for dipping salsa (Don Sabrosa, my fav!), and crackers for cheese 🙂 Today, I used them in my lunch and made an Alyssafied Taco Salad!

I took fresh spinach, leftover sweet and savory veggie saute, leftover roasted coconut sage butternut squash, and some Food Should Taste Good Blue Corn Chips.  I topped it all with Don Sabrosa Blueberries, Peaches, and Honey Salsa,  tahini, and nutritional yeast.  The chips were great for dipping and crushing up to give the mix some texture.  Absolutely hit the spot!

Tonight, we sampled a new type of cheese that we found at Costco…Blueberry Cinnamon Goat Cheese!  It is really more of a dessert, Hubby and I have decided, but it pairs perfectly (and matches!) with guess what!!! Yup!!

And since I know you just loved that…

Same goodness, different angle 🙂

These blue corn chips are rockin’ my world!  I completely recommend them, along with any other brand of FSTG!!

oh lawwwd i am in love with anything sweet potato and chocolate. so FSTG is a win win with their sweet potato and corn chips! i’d have to say my favorite thing to make would be a weird lasagna hybrid type of thing with the chocolate chips. i layer them with peanut butter, strawberries/bananas/yummy fruitiness, and soy ice cream. DELISH.

    Wow, what an awesome contest!

I would love to incorporate their cinnamon and chocolate chips into a spunky new chili recipe. I LOVE those flavors in chili and think the flavors + crunch would be perfect in a big steamy bowl of chili 🙂

      Brandi,

I love chili and in fact put cinnamon in my recipe! I think you’re on to something 🙂

So I’m going to be honest and tell you that I’ve never tried anything from FSTG, yet. But, if I did have the chance to win I would probably use these chips in order to bread things in a gluten free way… stick the chips in a food processor with some cheese, herbs/spices and you got yourself a breading!

    • July 13, 2010 1:23 am

      Katie,

Well that is all the more reason why you should win!! These chips are fantastic 🙂 And a breading is a perfectly good use for them! In fact, I believe that FSTG recommends crumbling up the Chocolate Tortilla Chip as a topping on your ice cream 🙂

    That cheese is so pretty!

I actually do not have a creative recipe for the FSTG chippies…I have never tried them before…but they look good and people are always raving about them, so I believe the hype.

      Cara,

Thank you! I will pass al0ng the compliment to the cheese 🙂 Although you have never had them, imagine the possibilities with the chips!! Enter a recipe and I’ll throw your name in the hat for the giveaway 🙂

I would make my maple butternut spinach ice cream, and crumble the chocolate crisps on top.

OR, I would puree butternut squash, mix with maple syrup and spread on the crisps. Then, I would dip them in melted chocolate and freeze them.

OR I would do all that, but with peanut butter instead of butternut squash. yeah, I think that one wins. 😀

You are playing with fire here! Nut butter and FSTG Chips! Ingenious!! I would love to see your spinach ice cream recipe 🙂

I would love to try the sweet potato flavor, and the blue corn is great with black bean hummus!

Well, the second I saw they had a jalapeno flavor, I started thinking of how that could be used.

I think I would make a modified Jalapeno Poppers (I’m currently on weight watchers so always trying to find new flavorful products to try in lower-cal recipes).

Slice some small jalapenos lengthwise and get rid of all those seeds, then stuff with a mixture of fat free cream cheese, reduced fat cheddar, and a bit of salsa mix. Close back up, and put a batch of these chips into the food processor to get them all shredded finely and deliciously. Then, dip the jalapenos in some egg-whites and next, take the tiny crunchy crumbs of the jalapeno chips and roll em around until they’re all covered and crunch-tastic! I figure I’d bake them in the oven until cooked and TA-DA low-cal, super flavorful jalapeno poppers!

      Jordan,

That sounds delish!! Thanks for the input! Don’t forget to link it to your blog and post a comment referring someone else here!
