Organics on My Doorstep!

October 21, 2010

Today I received a lovely surprise!!

Door To Door Organics sent me a package to try out!

I received the Bitty Box (how cute!) of both fruit and produce.  Honestly, for 2 people, this is the perfect size! In the box we had produce, covered with DIRT!! Just the way I like it 🙂 This way you know it came from the ground to your door and into your belly. No worries about methane ripening of these fine dandies!

In the box came:

– A head of Romaine

– Fresh Farm Spinach

– 8.8 oz Strawberries

– 2 Bartlett Pears

– 2 Honeycrisp Apples

– 2 Roma Tomatoes

– 2 Red Bell Peppers

– 2 Acorn Squash

– 2 Oranges

The best thing about Door To Door Organics is that every box is different. You really never know what you are going to get! Also, the produce is seasonal! You won’t be getting any peaches in the Winter, but you will get your fill of squashes 🙂

You also have the option of getting weekly or bi-monthly deliveries based on how quickly you eat your box. This helps you keep your spending to a minimum, but in all honesty, if you were to head to Whole Foods and buy the same items, you would be spending the same amount if not more!

Door To Door Organics is a great option for those of us who aren’t lucky enough to live near an awesome Farmer’s Market. The ones near me are blah, so this is another great alternative to fresh produce all year long 🙂

Thanks Door To Door! Check out their website to see if they service your area as well! Let me know how much you love their service!

Oh man – not in TX! What a cool service. I hope they expand. There are other co-ops near me, but often times the pick-up times aren’t too convenient.

My 5 year old eats bell peppers whole – she would have finished off those two beauties in a day!
